Today is all about creating a sanctuary in our homes.
How did that go for you today?
How did you create that space of sanctuary?
What rang true for you?

May our homes be filled with a little more love and a little more peace and little more of what matters most.

It’s my goal through these colder months to go through my entire home and purge what is not needed and create a more peaceful space. Doing this one space/area at a time

One of my goals for the new year has been to clear, clean, and organize my home, one room at a time. I got a jump start in December & have gotten lots done already! But have been lagging this week on finishing up. Today’s lesson gave me motivation & inspiration to get more of it done today!!

I love this! So much truth. I feel it even when I visit my childhood home. Thank you, Ruth, for a beautiful challenge!

We put Christmas away this morning and it feels good to have a less cluttered, clear space again. One thing I did this last year was to hire someone to come in and clean every two weeks. Because I have to make sure that the counters and spaces are clear so she can clean, I have been way more on top of keeping things organized and in their places. I've been going through things and making decisions on keeping them, discarding, or donating right away rather than waiting for a semi-annual purge.

I got some house cleaning done. Cleaned my diffusers. Now I'm diffusing Douglas Fir and Wild Orange. Douglas Fir is one of my new fave oils!! Diffusing always smells better after the diffuser has been cleaned. Feeling cozy!

I vacuumed my whole house and did some deep cleaning. On my main level in the living room I am diffusing clementine, lemon eucalyptus , purify. MMM….makes my house smell so fresh. Upstairs where the bedrooms are I am diffusing cedarwood and bergamot. It makes for a relaxing atmosphere.

I cleaned off the kitchen table, did 2 loads of laundry and picked up dog toy "remains" (LOL!). It's allowed me to focus on the positives in my home (not just things) and not the messes (negatives) that often jump out at me and are so easy to focus in on.

“No success in this life will compensate for failure in the home.”

Sanctuary - a fitting and powerful word to describe the best environment for a home.

May more people have this gift 🎁

Just diffuse some of the doTERRA Hygge Blend. I find that whenever I diffuse this it makes any room a sanctuary…it makes you feel safe and secured🥰

I thought I would come home from work and do some straightening, but that did not happen. I was distracted by a mini-painting project. lol Though the soup stock is making is smell like home.
My house is in constant clutter clearing, state of remodeling, and it is my studio. (Only the lucky few I know will not judge are invited to come inside).
I secretly love that I start a project and walk into another room and get distracted by another creation or project. My personal chaos in my joyous sanctuary.

Normally I burn candles, diffuse essential oils, and listen to music. Today my husband and I spent quality time together.

I moved into my new place Nov 1st and there has been many boxes in the garage I kept saying I'd get to but wouldn't, or would grab what I need when I needed it. Today I went thru many boxes and organized what I still need to go thru in a tidy spot. Getting rid of what I don't need and finding the stuff I love to bring in the house. It was great.

Our sanctuary has been a work in progress for months. Today I went through more boxes in the loft. While this isn’t a quick process, I can now envision the sanctuary this will become!

I was expecting to serve others. It was good to take time to serve me. We always put ourselves last. I need to take time for me more often.

I helped my daughter clean her room. She goes back to school after the break on Monday and I wanted her to have a space of peace and sanctuary to come back to each day. We live busy lives and this is an area I have struggled in recently and I'm so greatful to have the opportunity to focus some time and effort to create sanctuary in my home. Thank you!

I decided to take this and use it as my focus this week. 10-30 minutes a day of making a space more sanctuary in my house.

It was a busy day. I didn’t get to work on home but I did get to spend time with my daughters. We had cookie rally to day (girl scout cookie time) and my 15 yr old and I volunteered to help run a station. Then one done we went to lunch with my youngest and husband. And my youngest(9 yrs old) ask my to watch miraculous with her. Just sitting the snuggle watching one of her favorite animes was heaven. My home is not my sanctuary, my family is.

I accidently wrote my comment in lesson 5. I copied& pasted here. My goal is to thoroughly clean every room in my house. Get rid of stuff I don't need, donate unwanted items and have a yard sale w/ unwanted items in April. I started w/ my bathrooms. I washed all the fixtures, floors and rugs. I went through medicine chest - replaced medications w/ doterra alternatives. Cleaned out drawers - kept only what I feel necessary for myself as I live alone. Next week bedroom closets.
This worked great but tiring, until I washed my electric magnetic mug in the dishwasher! Thankfully it still works.
I need a clean home to function. Will follow weekly routine of my sixteen rooms - one at a time til finished. I will diffuse my oils daily to keep the rooms refreshed and clean smelling. I will look through my materials to find diffuser recipes.

I took the time to write out a more organized schedule of what needs to be done throughout the week so I’m not just bouncing from one thing to another to another without really feeling like I have accomplished much. I hope this will reduce the anxiety I feel about keeping things “tidy” and make my home a more relaxful space.
