Sometimes Fred Meyer carries knobs of tumeric along with knobs of ginger. If can't find any maybe turmeric oil could be substituted.

Where can we find and buy a turmeric knob?
Turmeric is usually near the fresh ginger. If you can't find it, you can substitute turmeric oil.

I don't use nuts or coconut because of diverticulitis. Since it's called golden milk, will it all be blended and strained?

My son is VERY allergic to nuts. Especially Cashews. So we can't have those in our house. Is there something else we can use in its place for the Golden Milk? Would sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds work?

You may also want to consider Coconut Sugar as it has a low glycemic index

Would coconut sugar be okay to use as a sweetener? Raw local honey?

Can grapefruit be used in place of oranges in the green goddess recipe? Just bought a big box from school fund raiser.

There have been a few questions about substitutions, so I thought I would put them all in one comment. For sweeteners feel free to use the sweetener you prefer–dates, local raw honey, and real maple syrup are some of our favorites. For nut substitutions in the Golden milk, we love cashews for the creaminess, you could use a different nut. I wouldn't see why it wouldn't work it may just have a slightly different texture or taste. For the green goddess you can substitute another citrus in place of the oranges, you may just need to adjust the ration (add a little more apple or use a little less citrus, etc.) depending on how tart you like things. Can't wait to be in the kitchen with you all!
