FRIENDS… movement matters.
A survey of more than 155,000 adults in the U.S. asked participants if they had exercised at all in the past month, such as by running, golfing, gardening or walking. Those who had were one third less likely to report sleep problems and half as likely to report daytime tiredness.*

Here is Dr. Gough and Dr. Kevin Ward, DPT with the importance of movement for not only sleep but our whole wellness. We invite you this week to get moving and maybe even try something new! What are you going to do to get your body moving? Are you going to try something new?

Thank you for the stretch Dr. Gough! I did that at my desk. Love the other workout videos. Those will be easy and fun to do at home.

I really appreciate the sitting stretches, especially the ones to open the hips. I can always tell when I've been sitting too long. Thank you for the tips

Dr. Ward, thanks for the breathing tips. With having COPD & oxygen, that really helps expand the lungs. I will be doing it all the time.
Dr. Gough, thanks for the sitting stretching exercises. After doing them I notice a better range of motion. As for the ABC’s exercises, I’ve been doing them for years. It really helps strengthen the ankles it you do them both UPPER / lower case, BLOCK or Italic (cursive) styles. My girls taught this one to me when they were playing Competitive and College Volleyball.

I’m going to try the hitt workout tomorrow. Don’t think I’m coordinated enough to try the Gough family favorite. :)

I am two weeks post partum. I am trying to balance resting with getting some movement (mostly short walks or taking care of my kids).

I enjoy a program called SLAM. When I am able, I like exercising in the morning before my kids wake up. I also trained for a couple of 5Ks.

I am typically pretty active, but school will be starting back up soon. I teach and also coach cross country. Although I can't run like I used to, I do try to get out and run with my kids a few times a week.

My job requires me to be on my feet all day, so I easily make about 16,000+ steps a day, but I think I could definitely benefit going for a run a couple days a week.

I like to hit the gym for weightlifting 6 days a week and after work I also like to walk with my dog. Getting lots of movement during the day definitely helps me get good sleep!
