We have been talking about the benefits of sleep, let’s take a look at one more.
Through our time together with challenge we will not only be increasing our health but also our healthspan—living longer and being healthy throughout our lives.
What do you want to be able to do throughout your life?
For me it is being able to be active with my kids and one day with my grandchildren and even great grandchildren.
Up-leveling our sleep and using the tools of the Serenity system can help us do just that—increase our health span!! Take a look at the the data.
The Study
Each study participant wore a fitness tracker that collected participants’ sleep times and amounts of light sleep, REM sleep, and deep sleep, providing a “sleep score.” Researchers also collected blood samples before and after the study to analyze a baseline and an endpoint for genome-wide methylation patterns.
Participants were divided into two categories: regular sleepers and irregular sleepers. Regular sleepers were defined as participants whose bedtimes and waketimes varied two hours or fewer and who went to bed before midnight. Irregular sleepers were defined as participants whose bedtimes and waketimes varied by more than two hours and who went to bed after midnight.
The doTERRA Serenity Sleep System and Biological Age
The doTERRA Serenity Sleep System impacted markers of biological age, according to several body system clocks. Unlike chronological age (the number of years you’ve been alive), biological age is modifiable. While you can’t change how old you are, you may be able to slow the signs of aging.
The study noted:
*A significant decrease in blood age markers in regular sleepers—by 1.84 years. This wasn’t seen in irregular sleepers.
*A significant decrease in brain age markers in regular sleepers—by 7.05. This was also seen in irregular sleepers by 5.74 years.
*A significant decrease in inflammatory markers in regular sleepers—by 3 years. This was also seen in irregular sleepers by 2.37 years.
*A significant decrease in immune age markers in regular sleepers by 3.86 years. This was not seen in irregular sleepers.
*A significant decrease in metabolic age markers in regular sleepers by 4.45 years. This was also seen in irregular sleepers by 3.48 years.
Are you ready to live better longer?

I had no idea that it’s possible to measure age by blood. Fascinating

As I get older, these statements hit harder. My objective is not only to learn for my benefit but to teach my kids and grandkids so they live in wellness and not disease.

Something that was once so natural as sleep has become such an issue for many that we have to work hard to get it back to that natural state. I know sleep has been something I have taken for granted. In just these few short days I have learned that sleep has to be one a priority for me.

It used to be so easy to go to sleep and stay asleep. What has changed to make it so difficult to go to sleep and stay asleep?

This is awesome information! I love the way LLV has already helped me feel younger and more alive, and I'm looking forward to continued improvement with me using this sleep system.

Our healthspan is such an important discussion. We need our current health to be strong to even want to have a longer lifespan. I know too well how lack of sleep impacts our life. Fighting cancer and debilitating pain with severe spinal stenosis has impacted my life as well as my health.

Unfortunately for my job, I'm an irregular sleeper. I work 2nd shift. If all goes well, I'll be a regular sleeper by the end of next yr.

I would like to have a more consistent wake-up and going to bed time. I worry so much about missing out on things that in turn I am missing out during the day being so tired. So thankful for this opportunity!

I would like to be able to sleep more than 5-6 hours a night which is what I usually get right now - I would also like to be able to go back to sleep when I wake up early - instead of not being able to fall asleep again.
