This week we are focused on Sleep and Nutrition. If you haven't yet, take a moment to complete Module 3. We dive into the connection between nutrition and sleep for optimal health.
Here are some foods that support sleep! Which one will you incorporate into your daily routine? Do you have any favorite recipes that incorporate these sleep supportive foods?
Whether it’s a jolt after a cup of coffee or drowsiness after Thanksgiving dinner, most people have personally experienced how food and drinks can affect their energy and alertness.
Many studies suggest that certain foods and ways of eating may promote better sleep in some people. Foods may help sleep by contributing to adequate nutrition or because they contain sleep-promoting components, like tryptophan, essential vitamins, melatonin, or serotonin.

Well, I was hoping Ice cream would be on that list but wishful thinking. Good to know raspberries, kiwi, and bananas are on the list.

Very interesting study. I'm curious, does it matter what time of day you eat these foods? Does it store the melatonin?

I thought it was cool how the study focused on the different ages and an average of how much melatonin each group was getting. It cost me to think about newborns and how things might be different for them if they had more melatonin, and the effects that might have as a continue to age over the years if that has an impact on the child in general.
